The Intro is a variation of Em, C and B7 chords played at the 8th fret
which are fingerpicked.
Try holding down a C chord shape and add the little finger at the 10th fret.
(It's similar to the intro of "The Angel Song" if you've cracked that!).
The verses are played using chords at the top of the neck preferably fingerpicked
but can be played with a pick or strummed(use the chords as per the intro).
I've tabbed the song so that it can be played using easier chords at the bottom
of the neck, which is where the chorus is fretted.Play along to the song and
you should get a passable interpretation of it.
