1.) ABOUT THIS FAQ

1.1) Say ... what is this again?

Just my go at something like an Ezio FAQ. Havenīt seen one around so I
thought I might as well write one.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

1.2) And whatīs an ... FAQ?

THIS question is definitely an FAQ!
FAQ stands for Frequently Asked Questions - and means exactly that: a list
of questions that come up quite often (or never at all) about a certain
subject from newbies. And why not make a list of these questions when they
are asked anyway all the time? You get the picture.
And anyway: itīs just so much easier to tell some to RTFM (or RTFF in this
case) instead of answering the question!
No really: itīs (hopefully) quite helpful to people who are new to a certain
subject (in this case the hardest working band on earth) and who want to learn
a little bit about Ezio and their music.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

1.3) Ah. And you are ...?

Iīm just the guy who one sunny Saturday afternoon came up with the idea to
bundle all the FAQs (and not so FAQs) into this list.
I put general stuff about the band, their members, their music and live gigs
in here as well as info about the Webpages and the mailing list, the
merchandise, spicy rumours and infos where to download MP3s of the latest
Ezio songs ...

Just kidding.

In case you want to tell me how useless and self absorbed this document is,
or that there is a typo in line 376 (and there isn't) or anything else:
just send a mail to (Private Email address) or
(you guessed it ... my Office Email address).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

1.4) So this FAQ is the definitive info source about Ezio?

Yeah. Sure.
If you _really_ want to know something about Ezio, buy their records, go to
their gigs and surf by the "Ezio Zone"[0]. This FAQ is just a list of stuff
I came up with. Maybe it contains something useful, maybe not. I for one
sure had fun writing it. :)
Most of the information in here was taken from various websites (mostly
[0] and [9]), discussions with other Ezio fans and my ever fading memory.
When there was a distinct source I tried to acknowledge it.
Special thanks to the people that contributed to this FAQ by sending me
corrections, new infos and other interesting stuff.
Any errors you find are my fault so donīt blame anyone else. If you find one
or have anything else to say about this FAQ, just send a mail to
 or .

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.) THE BAND

2.1) So - what is the band called?

You know this is the "EZIO FAQ"? Hello?
And itīs EZIO ... not Enzio or Enzo or ...
Itīs the name of the lead singer, songwriter and head of the band,
Ezio Lunedei.

Interesting sidenote from Nigel Dobbie[10]:
" ... and an interesting fact is that the band is called Ezio rather than
Ezio and Booga which was the original name, is that Booga means Boogie or
snot or something like that in the USA ..."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.2) And how do you pronounce that?

It sounds more like "at-sio", not "ease-io".

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.3) Who are the other band members?

Apart from Ezio, who sings and plays acoustic guitar, there is
   * Booga - acoustic guitar
   * Lidia Cascarino - bass
   * Peter van Hooke - drum

You might also get across the name of "Mark Fowell" when you hear or read
about Ezio. Thatīs just what Boogaīs called by people who donīt call him
Booga.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.4) Is anyone really saying "Mark" or "Mr. Fowell" to Booga?

Good question! Anyone know the answer? Booga?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.5) Can you give me a short history of the band?

[A big Thank You to Martin for this paragraph!]

This short band biography comes directly from Martin Randle, who was there
at the very beginning[14]. Here we go:

'In the late 80's Ezio was lead guitarist in a Cambridge band called
"Spiritwalk". Booga was lead guitarist in a band called "The Big Blue" and I
was lead guitarist in a band called "Midwich Cuckoos". We all knew each
other and went to each others gigs as did most of the Cambridge scene.

All 3 bands seemed to split up around the same time. Ezio went solo and
started playing his songs in small cafe bars. A mutual friend of ours Phil
gaze (ex drummer with Midwich Cuckoos) brought me a demo of Ezio's songs -
one of which featured Booga as guest guitarist. I did some arrangements and
Ezio liked them so we did a full album demo called "Saxon Street". Booga
joined us for two songs "Alex" and "Scream".

Ezio sold enough of these over 1990/1 to fund the next album. For this he
wanted a more "band" approach - "Saxon Street" had relied on keyboards
sequencers and drum machines to pad out the songs.

So he got the drummer from "Spiritwalk" Richard Beazley, Booga on guitar,
myself (Martin Randle) on keyboards and a few others to make "Angel Song".
We were never a band - we just got together for the one project and most of
the songs were played one through to "learn" and the second time was the
performance.

Ezio and Booga continued to play as a duet right up until recently.

As for the rest, Richard Beazley was playing drums for Gary Numan though I
haven't heard from him for 3 years. Phil Gaze is now a camera man - he
filmed the "Ezio live at the Shepherds Bush" video and was filming footage
at the Junction gig for their latest single "strange". I am songwriter and
keyboardist for a band who's lead vocalist happens to be Booga's girlfriend
Clare.

So we are all still friends and we still go to each others gigs when we can.'

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.6) Cambridge? "Ezio" doesn't sound english to me!

I grant you that but if you consider that Ezio is in fact Italian it might
make sense. And while we're at it: Booga is half Kenyan (sp?).
[Thanks to many people who corrected errors in former versions here.]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.7) What kind of music do they play?

Quite simple. Thereīs good music and thereīs bad music. They play good music.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.8) Yeah ok, you like īem, I got that. Can you be a bit more specific?

Ok. Close your eyes and picture two guys with acoustic guitars ... playing
LOUD ... and FAST - rocking away like thereīs no tomorrow. Now picture a guy
on the stage playing his guitar while his friend plays the soli to a
beautifully sad love song. Mix these two pictures in your mind and youīre
on the right track.
To put it more classically: they play a mix of rock and folk (and even pop?)
songs, written by Ezio. They can be very slow and moving and touch your soul
... or they can blast you away by sheer power and volume that you may have
never heard from acoustic guitars before.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.9) So they play only acoustic guitars?

Pretty much now, but there was a phase when Booga would also use a bright
red electric guitar. A while ago now though.

On the studio records youīll also find electric guitars but not at
a live gig. There itīs acoustic only (apart from Lidia playing electric bass).
But remember: acoustic does not mean slow and folky. Not with these guys.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.10) What kind of guitars do they play?

(This bit was blatantly stolen from Simon Grimshaw's Homepage [2].)
"For those who care: Ezio uses Takamine guitars, Booga uses a Yamaha APX-4
and probably the lightest strings ever made."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.11) Wait a minute! You only said something about the guitar players. Whatīs
with the rest of the band?

[Thanks to Christian Pannier for correcting errors in previous versions. -msz]

Good point.
They started out as a duo in the early nineties and recorded their self
produced debut album "The Angel Song" in 1993. They performed mostly as a duo
for the next two years.
Ever since "Diesel Vanilla" they perform as a four piece band with Lidia on
bass and Peter on drums (who also produced "Diesel Vanilla" and "Higher").
But even now youīll find several gigs a year where itīs just Ezio and Booga
and two guitars. Anyway: the sound is definitely dominated by the guitars.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.12) And which is better: duo or the whole band?

There is no answer to this question. Some people prefer the duo, some prefer
the band. I prefer the music in itself, wether itīs performed by two or four.
I donīt care. But nearly all fans agree that both combinations are simply
magic when seen live. Just see for yourself.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.13) What records are out there?

At that moment their discography goes like this:

* The Angel Song, 1993
The debut album; self-produced at Salami Records; normally not available
at stores and by now out-of-print

* Black Boots On Latin Feet, 1995
The first album with a major label (BMG) and regarded by many as THE
definitive Ezio album; produced by Rubert Hine

* Diesel Vanilla, 1997
The followup to "Black Boots ..."; produced by Peter Van Hooke

* Ezio & Booga Live At The Shepherds Bush Empire
Again self-produced at Salami Records; recorded live on 5-March-1999 at the
Shepherds Bush Empire in London; normally not available at stores

* Higher, 2000
The latest studio album; available from SPV in Germany and Salami Records
in the UK; produced by Peter Van Hooke

Apart from "The Angel Song" and the live CD the albums can be found at
regular record stores, although "Black Boots ..." and "Diesel Vanilla"
can be quite hard to find nowadays.
Their self-produced records can normally only be bought at their gigs or
through their direct merchandise channel although I've heard that the Live
album is available at some stores in the UK. However, there are only few
copies of "The Angel Song" left (if any).

There's also a (now pretty much impossible to find) tape album called Saxon
Street that predated Angel Song. Booga only played on one track (Silently
Screaming if I can remember correctly).

A full discography can be found on Christian Pannier's Ezio site[9].

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.14) And which album is the best?

Iīm not telling you. Buy them all and find out yourself.

Most fans will probably tell you that "Black Boots On Latin Feet" is THE
definitive and defining Ezio Album - and itīs hard to argue against that.
But all their albums are great. Trust me!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.15) Are their albums also available on Vinyl and Tape?

(Why do I come up with questions by myself that Iīm unable to answer? There
must be a deeply hidden trauma somewhere inside of me ...; -msz)
Good question, next one! I think at least their major label albums are
available on tape, but I have never heard of an Ezio vinyl.
For more details about available discs, tapes and vinyl records, you should
probably head over to [9].

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.16) How about videos?

There are two live videos: the first one is simply called "Live" and
contains live versions of songs from the first three albums.
There is also a promotional video for "The Further We Stretch" and
a detailed documentary about "The Stretch" (see also 4.5).
The second one was recorded on 5.3.99 during a gig at the Shepherds
Bush Empire in London which is also the title of the video. It features
about half of the concert. It contains the same songs as the live
album of the same name but has a nice extra at the end ...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.17) Where they ever in the charts?

After the (in)famous April 2000 "Bring Ezio Into The Charts" movement ...
yes, they were.
Just before the release of their new album "Higher", Ezio and Booga
sent out a little message to their fans through the "Ezio Zone"[0]:
"Our management and new record company in Germany assure us that if our
fans go out and buy the album in the first week we stand a good chance of
getting into the German charts and so have asked us to pass this message
onto you." [4]
The result: "Higher" entered the German LP charts at #58 in its first week
of release and proceeded to climb to #52; their single "Still Ice Cold" even
reached #1 in the listeners charts of the german radio station SWR3 on
7.5.2000!

As for the chart notations for "Black boots ..." and "Diesel Vanilla":
there were in the British TOP200 for a total of three weeks.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.18) Do they also play live?

Thatīs a trick question, right?
Ezio does lots of live shows throughout the year, mostly in the UK and in
Germany. And to really experience Ezio means "experiencing Ezio live".
Their shows are famous for their energy, power and magic and you will have a
hard time finding a better live band than them. Not only the fans but
meanwhile many critics as well will tell you that.
But do not trust me or the fans or some critic on this: see for yourself.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.19) Are they playing sometime soon in my area?

Just check the "Ezio Zone"[0]. Thereīs a "Live" section which has the newest
info on live gigs. But chances are quite good that you can see them live if
you live in the UK or in Germany. They have also played in the Netherlands
and Luxembourg, but thatīs about it I think.
And of course you can call Ezio's Tour Management directly.
For Germany that's
   A.S.S. Concerts und Promotion GmbH
   Rahlstedter Strasse 92 a
   D-22149 Hamburg
   Germany
   http://www.ass-concerts.de

And for the UK
   Brian Yeates Associates
   Home Farm House
   Canwell, Sutton Coldfield
   West Midlands B75 5SH
   United Kingdom
   http://www.brianyeates.co.uk

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.20) So they make great records, play "magic" live shows ... how come theyīre
      not famous?

Theyīre not famous ... yet.
Canīt really say. Their music is definitely commercial (in the sense of
"people like to buy their records"), they are regarded as a fantastic live
band, they tour very often and are extremely dedicated to their fans ...
Everythingīs there. Even Tony Blair promoted them.
[Maybe thatīs the reason theyīre not famous ... ;) ]
Maybe itīs a global conspiracy or people simply donīt realize good music when
they hear them. I donīt know.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.21) Whatīs with this "Tony Blair" bit?

The (in)famous Tony Blair story. Here we go:
When asked by the "Sydney Morning Herald" about his desert island records,
Tony Blair put "Cancel Today" in there as one of his favourite songs.
For the full story, you can check out[11].

The Observer then followed it up with a column with the headline 'Blair's
Bland Band'. Did not go down well.

And ever since then when someone writes something about Ezio in a music
magazine this story gets printed as well.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.22) I keep hearing this story about a gig where Ezio and Booga played
for an audience of two: a guy and his dog! Youīre kidding, right?

[This one probably needs some more digging into: When was the gig? Who
was the reporter? What was the name of the dog? Anyone? -msz]
Nope. Happened exactly like that. They were playing a gig in the Netherlands
in ī94 (?) to one guy and his dog (who happend to have a pre-ordered ticket
since he wanted to play it safe in case the show was sold out - the GUY, not
the DOG, dummie!). And they didnīt cancel the show but simply asked the guy
which songs he wanted to hear - and then they played them.
But that's not all: the guy was one of the most important music magazine
writers in the Netherlands and published a raving review of the show and the
band as a whole.
True story.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.23) Apart from the albums and the videos: Is there any other Ezio stuff
      out there?

[Commercial break music softly fading in ...]

There are:
* Ezio shirts in different colours and sizes
* Ezio boxer shorts (only XL)
* Ezio posters (although not on sale at the moment)
* Ezio keyrings (no joking although they can be hard to get now)
All of this stuff is available at their shows or directly from:
Sally Booth
C/O Lounge Lizard
3 Cross Street
Peterborough
PE1 1XA
England

Or you can order online at http://hometown.aol.com/SBooth4981/index.html[12]

[Soft music fade out / end of commercial break]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

2.24) What's "Mofo Hifi"?

That's another band that Booga plays in. They play disco and funk.
I've never heard them so I can't really say much here. But in case
you're interested then their homepage[6] is the place to go.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

3.) Ezio Songs

3.1) I wish I could play like Ezio & Booga. Are chords for their songs
     available?

For some of them. Check out the "Ezio Zone"[0]. You should also check out the
archives of the mailing lists since some fans posted some songs with chords
and tabs. Some chords and tabs might also be found at OLGA, the Online
Guitar Archive[5].

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

3.2) I have some chords, but I still canīt play like Ezio & Booga!

Welcome to the club.
a) Accept the fact that they are REALLY good - and youīre not.
b) Practice. Practice more. Let your fingers heal. Practice some more.
Then you probably realise that a) is still true.
c) Take guitar lessons from Booga. No really, he offers some.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

3.3) And if I only want to sing along?

Read the booklets of the studio albums ("The Angel Song" does not contain
lyrics). Or take a look at the lyrics section on the "Ezio Zone"[0] where
you can find the lyrics of all published songs.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

3.4) Is there really a "Saxon Street" in Cambridge?

Well ... there is a Saxon Street AND a Saxon Road in Cambridge but the song
actually is written about the Saxon Road in Peterborough (you're still
with me?)
But since suitable rhymes for "street" are easier to find than for "road"
Ezio took a bit of artistic license.
Despite Saxon Road being in Cambridge, Saxon Street is in fact where Ezio
grew up in Peterborough. Evidence includes himself describing it as such at
the last Cambridge gig. So long as you believe him ;)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

3.5) Who is "Higher" about?

Supposedly Jeff Buckley, a very talented musician who died 1997 in a tragic
drowning accident at the age of 31. For more info about him and his music you
might take a look at http://www.jeffbuckley.com/[7].

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

3.6) Doesn't the album "The Angel Song" feature some songs that are also
     found on later albums?

Yes indeed. "The Angel Song" features early versions of the following
songs: "Thousand Years", "Go", "Steal Away", "Agony" and of course
"Angel Song" (all of which appear on their next album "Black Boots") and
"Cinderella", which later appears on "Diesel Vanilla".

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

3.7) What is "Meet Me In The Gods" about?

This song is about the death of Ezioīs mother.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

4.) Ezio Live

4.1) Are their live shows really that good?

Yes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

4.2) Prove it!

Thatīs not a question ... but ok.
Just go to a gig and see for yourself. Or you could listen to the live album
that came out 1999, "Ezio & Booga Live At The Shepherds Bush Empire". Or you
could watch the live video of the same gig. Or ask any Ezio fan.

And don't forget the story in 2.22)! This says more about Ezio's dedication
to their fans than anything I could come up with.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

4.3) Whatīs with this "commercial break" during their shows?

During many of their live shows they interrupt the set in the middle for a
short while and perform the "commercial break": they play some easy listening
music and Ezio tells the audience about all the nice things you can buy that
have an Ezio logo on it. Itīs really cool and funny.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

4.4) What is that song called again they play during the commercial break?

Thatīs "Girl From Ipamena".

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

4.5) What is "The Stretch"?

Thatīs a specific dance thatīs performed to "The Further We Stretch".
And itīs not the band who performs it - itīs the audience. Nowadays this
doesnīt happen that often anymore but it was quite frequent two years ago.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

4.6) Can you show me how to do it?

Ask any hardcore Ezio fan and (s)he can probably show you the moves. If I
find the time I will include an ASCII version of the dancing steps.
For the time being here is a textual description of the steps in sync
with the lyrics:

The further we stretchStretch out your arms from left to right
the higher the skyPut your arms high in the air
it gets harderPut one hand on your other arms biceps
the harder we tryahem ... Make a nasty (predominantly male)
gesture with your hand
the faster we runPose like a running greek statue
the longer the roadPut your hand to your forehead and scan
the horizon
the stronger we getPose like a body builder
the bigger the load.Pretend to cup up your hands over your breasts
if you are a girl; as a boy do the same as if
to hold your well-fed stomach

If you can get hold of a copy of their first live concert video, youīll also
find detailed instructions on how to do the "Stretch". Unfortunately I have
never seen this video so I can not really tell you much about this.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

4.7) Whatīs this other song they play together with "Tuesday Night"?

Thatīs "Sweet Thing" by Van Morrison.
They've also added a couple more covers - Boo Hewerdine's 59 Yards, and
another Van Morrison one - Tupelo Honey. And I won't even start to try and
work out all the ones they've done when they do 'guitar jousting'.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

4.8) What's the biggest crowd they ever played for?

They played an Open Air gig in Karlsruhe 1997 at "Das Fest" in front of about
27.000 people. That's the biggest crowd so far I know of.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

4.9) And what's the smallest crowd?

One. See also 2.22).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

4.10) I thought Ezio was the singer but Booga sings live too, right?

Booga does indeed sing some live songs - and then the crowd normally
goes wild! :)
The two songs he's been known to perform as vocal artist are "Moonburn"
(by Ezio; as of yet only released as a single B-side) and "Stay With Me"
(by Ron Wood and Rod Stewart).
Booga also does a version of Rapper's Delight with (arrgh - can't remember
his name - the guy who used stay on stage to keep the guitars tuned, and
modelled the boxer shorts). Will be pretty rare now, as Andrew Van De Klugt
isn't touring with them any more.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

5.) This Mail and Web and Internet Thingie

5.1) Their Hompage?

Thatīs the "Ezio Zone"[0] and itīs http://www.ezio.de.
The starting page is in German but you can also access these pages
in English; either navigate from the german site (there is a link) or
go directly to http://home.germany.net/100-498650/ - but be warned:
this address may change so it's probably safer to first surf to
http://www.ezio.de.
It started out as a personal fan page by Mike Doell. He just did it for
himself: "This site began in 1996 - just because there was no info available
about Ezio."[3]
Then more people learned about this page and it sort of became the
unofficial meeting place for Ezio fans. Ezio himself found out about this
page, liked it a lot and so it became official.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

5.2) Are there other webpages about Ezio?

There are lots. Just check the "Links" section on the "Ezio Zone"[0].

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

5.3) Can I chat with other Ezio fans on the homepage?

Yes, and not only there.
There is a Web based forum on the Ezio Zone. Just create your message in
a Web based form and it'll appear on the guestbook there. So it's not really
a "chat" but you get to know a lot of people there.
And there's also an IRC-based chat set up by Marc Feist. Use any IRC client
(Server: irc.is-koeln.de, Port: 6667, Channel: #ezio) or go to [13] with
your Web browser (this requires a Java enabled Web browser).

5.4) How does this mailing list work?

Easy. There are now four mailing lists about Ezio:
* a german language and an english language general discussion list
* a german language and an english language info list

If you want to take part in a discussion or want to be informed of the latest
news, you should subscribe to one of these lists (or all of them). The info
lists will only be used for annoncements and news; you may receive mails
there but you never submit any. The general discussion lists are exactly
that: you send a mail to the list (hopefully on-topic and participating in
or starting a discussion) and every subscriber gets to read it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

5.5) How can I reach Ezio himself? Has he got an Email address?

Maybe he has, but I donīt know it. You could try contacting Ezioīs management.
But Ezio himself reads the "Ezio Zone" himself, so thereīs a good chance
that your mail or posting will be read by him or someone close to him.
If you want to contact Ezioīs management:
mad music management gmbh
Rahlstedter Strasse 92 a
D-22149 Hamburg
Germany
Email: madmusic@gmx.de
WWW: http://www.madmusicmanagement.com

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

5.6) What are the topics of the lists?

As said before, the info lists work only oneway: youīll get news and infos
through the lists but you never write to them.
The topic of the general discussion lists is of course Ezio: their music,
their live shows, their albums, ... Basically everything that would be
of common interest for other Ezio fans.
However if you want to talk with fellow Ezio fans about non-Ezio related
topics, you should probably send individual mails instead of using the
list.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

5.7) How do I subscribe to a list?

Two possibilites:
a) go to the websites http://www.ecircle.de (for german lists) or
   http://www.egroups.com (for the english lists);
   create a personal account;
   log in;
   search for Ezio;
   join any list by clicking on "Subscribe";
or
b) Send a mail to one of the following addresses:
for the german general discussion list
    for the german info list
for the english general discussion list
    for the english info list

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

5.8) How do I participate in a discussion?

Through a web based form:
a) either you log into http.//www.ecircle.de or http://www.egroups.com and
create your posting via your web browser
or
b) you surf by the "Ezio Zone"[0], go to the "Forum" link in the "Contact"
section, and create your posting there with your web browser.

Or just send a mail to the address of the general discussion list
(ezio@ecircle.de or ezio@egroups.com) and all other subscribers will receive
it (and it will be put on the Ezio zone too).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

5.9) How do I get off this mailing list?

Why do you want to?
Serious, itīs like the subscription:
a) go to the website http://www.egroups.com or http://www.ecircle.de;
   log in;
   check the lists youīre currently subscribed to;
select one of the Ezio lists and "Unsubscribe"
or
b) Send a mail to one of the following addresses:
    for unsubscription from the german
   discussion list
    for unsubscription from the german
   info list
    for unsubscription from the english
   discussion list
    for unsubscription from the english
   info list

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

5.10) Isnīt there another mailing list called "ezio-fans"?

Yes, there is. It was the first Ezio mailing list (created by Mr. Will
in December 1998) and you still can find it on the Egroups.Com homepage.
But things have changed and so that we donīt split apart too much you should
use the mailing lists mentioned above since most people are subscribed to
them. But the archive of "ezio-fans" contains numerous funny and informative
mails - check it out when you have the time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

5.11) Iīm kind of new to this whole Mail/Web/Internet thing. Can you give me
some tips about the DOs and DONīTs?

Just behave like you would when talking and discussing in real life.
That means:
* Donīt forget that you are talking to real people out there. Behave like
you would in a real life conversation.
* If you only want to talk to one specific person (or only a few people) then
itīs probably better to use individual mails instead of sending postings to
  the whole group.
* If you use only words then you can be judged only by your words. So you
  should choose them well.
* There will be people with differing opinions out there. Some of them might
make you mad. Donīt write a mail when youīre mad. Cool off a little, think
about it. Normally "flaming" doesn't get you anywhere.
* When writing mails of postings, do not WRITE LIKE THIS (all uppercase).
This is regarded as shouting and is considered impolite. Besides itīs
  really hard to read.
* When you answer a mail, you should quote only the necessary and relevant
parts of the previous mail. Do not quote the whole article and append
  your one line response.
* Respect other people's time and bandwidth.
* Do not send HTML mail to the lists. HTML is the language of the WWW, but
  not for emails.

The complete core rules of the netiquette (the "nice" way of interaction in
Cybersapce) can be found here[8].
